E•MO•TION is Carly Rae Jepsen's third studio album, and is heavily inspired by alternative and 1980s music, resulting in a largely synth-pop feel. The album, and especially the follow up EP: E•MO•TION Side B, features many songs with cheery 80s pop music, but lyrics that describe tragic events and difficult breakups. This project creates a short, conceptual series of promotional posters designed to reflect that juxtaposition of tone to subject. The colors and fonts used reflect the bold, happy 80s aesthetic, but a close look at the subject of the poster reveals two hands, one reaching out to hold the other while the second is slack to the side, uncaring.
